Ottawa real estate is wild

teeny tiny (approx 575 sq ft above grade) bungalow 1 bed 1 bath above grade, 1 bed 1 bath in the basement, right next door to a massive elementary school with no privacy fence, just a chain link one between the yard & school parking lot, in a SuburbsLite(TM) semi-urban neighbourhood that's basically the worst of both worlds

for $980,000

previously listed in the spring for $1,020,000

according to Zolo, the average price of equivalent houses is $768,000

who the fuck is setting these prices???

#including the basement it's roughly 1100 sq ft #and there are neighbourhoods & quality of houses where $1mil+ for 1100 sq ft is not unusual or unexpected #but not in this neighbourhood #and not backing onto an elementary school parking lot without a privacy fence or sound barrier #and not that tiny #like this should be $450k. $500k tops #my dream house is 1150 sq ft (2 storeys + bsmnt) in a neighbourhood where I wouldn't be surprised to see that price #and it sold last year for $845k #no fucking way anyone in their right mind would pay so much more for such an inferior property
